Characters to Hang Out With

The Happy Catholic posted a list of Ten Fictional Characters You'd Want to Hang Out With.
I will list in no particular order, but we do share #1-3

#1. Jane Eyre. Honest, insightful, kind. I would help her lighten up, though maybe now that she is married she has lightened up.
#2. Gandalf and Hobbits. This is a no-brainer
#3. Laura Ingalls & co.
#4. Scout Finch. Her dad would reduce me to awe, but we would've been best buds as kids.
#5. Mrs. Pollifax. I would argue with her eastern religion brain, but otherwise we'd get along well.
#6. Anybody from Gene Stratton-Porter. I'd probably fall in love with Jamie from Keeper of the Bees, so Storm Girl should hold on tight to him -:)
#7. Any of the Mitchells, 5 for Victory.
#8. Judy from Daddy Long Legs. We have EXACTLY the same sense of humor
#9. The Pevensies, yes, even Susan.
#10. Bailey and Rosie from Granny Torelli Makes Soup
#11. Lord Peter Wimsy. He's so funny!

I am not just talking about perfect characters or characters I like to read about a lot. Melanie and I would have nothing to say to each other; I identify with Regina Doman's characters, but I think somehow we wouldn't mix together; most of Sharon Creech's characters might drive me a little batty in real life; and Dicey would think I am unoriginal and without spine. She would!

And here are a list of characters I would NOT want to hang out with, but aren't out-and-out villains

#1. Scarlett O'Hara. Pretty amoral, but I love to read about her!
#2. Sara Crewe. She's very sweet and I love A Little Princess, but I don't think we'd have much to say to each other.
#3. Hollis Woods. I love her book, but she's too stubborn for me to get along with.
#4. Adeline Mah. Okay, she's real, but she wrote a memoir, so I'm counting her. She had such a sad life that so complicated her character that I don't think I could ever really understand her.
#5. Anybody from The English Patient. Let's just admit they are all wacky at best, if not twisted.
